about
To celebrate Fallen's 20th Anniversary, I knew that my December cover song would have to be an Evanescence track. This one took a while because it had to be perfect. Given I generally only release one cover a year, I knew it'd be a while before I recorded a cover of another Evanescence song.
I enlisted James of Twelve Years Today to work on this song together because Tourniquet is one of our favourite Evanescence tracks, and I'm so happy with what we ended up with!
I wanted to include harsh vocals in this track to pay homage to the very original version of this track that was written for Rocky Gray's band, Soul Embraced.
I hope you enjoy this homage to a band that has been hugely influential in my sound, and a massive thank you to James for hopping onto this track with me!
lyrics
I tried to kill the pain
But only brought more (so much more)
I lay dying
And I'm pouring crimson regret and betrayal
I'm dying (dying)
Praying (praying)
Bleeding (bleeding)
And screaming
Am I too lost to be saved?
Am I too lost?
My God, my tourniquet
Return to me salvation
My God, my tourniquet
Return to me salvation
Do you remember me?
Lost for so long
Will you be on the other side?
Or will you forget me?
I'm dying (dying)
Praying (praying)
I'm bleeding (bleeding)
And screaming
Am I too lost to be saved?
Am I too lost?
My God, my tourniquet
Return to mt salvation
My God, my tourniquet
Return to me salvation
Return to me salvation
I want to die
My God, my tourniquet
Return to me salvation
My God, my tourniquet
Return to me salvation
My wounds cry for the grave
My soul cries for deliverance
Will I be denied Christ?
Tourniquet
My suicide
Return to me salvation
Return to me salvation
