I wrote Infiltrate while in a dark place. I often get trapped in the loop of feeling like I can change something or someone from the inside, but when you ignore your own wellbeing, you can often find yourself the one who needs to be fixed, having fallen prey to the clawing darkness. Originally, this song was one of my calmer, more introspective tracks, but when Tim came on board, we decided to twist the song to better represent the emotion behind the lyrics. Tim added a much needed aggression to the track with the addition of a breakdown and he pushed me out of my comfort zone by encouraging me to add harsh vocals - something I had never done before. I've actually fallen in love with harsh vocals; I think they can add a really interesting texture when applied correctly and so this is something I definitely plan to explore in future releases.
